Hi! I’m Ming. Thank you for visiting!

Random but relevant fact: other than studying clean and herbal beauty, I also love metaphysics and do study the unknown & energy behind it. In my natal chart reading, surprisingly, I was born as “the true artist”. Following my heart and the truth that it leads me to is the direction I follow in my life. I am kind of a rebel, I don’t like rules, nor do I live by them. This makes me the worst employee, and this is why ever since I was young, I never wanted to work for anyone but myself. After graduating from UCSD and working at startups & in corporate environments for 5 years, I knew I needed to leave.

I loved and did bridal makeup for 7 years prior, so starting a makeup business was a no-brainer. I added teaching to my repertoire a year or so before I started doing semi-permanent makeup.

Beauty by Ming officially opened in December 2016. As a one-woman team (with the help of my husband), I worked hard and poured my heart and soul into the company. Along the way, I made great friends, listened to amazing stories, and sometimes made mistakes , but I’m so thankful for those mistakes. Because of them, I am definitely better than I was before.

As an artist and an entrepreneur, I never stay still and am always thinking about what’s next.
In December 2019, Beauty by Ming changed to Moai Beauty, which includes Moai Academy that offers Microblading and Makeup classes. I have so much more up my sleeve. Whether those ideas are good or bad, who knows? I guess we’ll keep going and see what you end up loving!
