At Moai, we’ve moved beyond outdated techniques like Microblading to focus exclusively on the advanced Nano Brows technique. Unlike Microblading, Nano Brows cause virtually no skin trauma, few days of minimal downtime, no pain, and deliver a more natural, long-lasting result. We believe in providing the highest - quality, cutting-edge services for our clients, and Nano Brows are the future of beautiful, natural and effortless brows. However, we still offer Microblading services to individuals who are more comfortable with that technique.

Microblading: Hair Strokes (with blade)

Everyone knows Microblading. An oldie but goodie. Using a hand-held tool called a Microblade, your Microblading artist skillfully draws individual strokes that mimic the look of real hair, resulting in a full, natural look.
98% of Moai’s current clients NO LONGER do Microbalding just to point that out. This technique was our main technique prior to 2022, and after Nano was introduced, Microblading is just not as “healthy” for the skin and downtime is 3x longer.

Nano needling manual Hair strokes
(with digital nano needle)

ARTIST: Ming AND GLORIA
This is the primary technique we focus on at Moai. The reasons are simple; less trauma for the skin, less blurring of the hair strokes and easy healing. The major difference between Nano and Microblading is the tools the artists use.
Instead of using a blade, this technique uses nano needle, a tiny single nano needle hooked onto a handheld digital device that dispenses and deposits color pigment into the skin. And you can imagine, a needle is a lot easier to navigate for an artist comparing to a blade. Unless the artist is not skilled, then the blade is a bit easier since the blade needs to stay on “track”.
Benefits: Achieve results that are just as natural as Microblading but with less skin damage, and it lasts longer. Also a perfect technique to correct any old brow tattoos.

If you have extremely sparse, little to no brow hair, or you love that perfect brow makeup look, then this is the technique for you. There are many versions of Powder Ombre styles out there, the truth is - the result really depends on who your artist is. At Moai, we stay away from the sharpie Instagram brows, or that solid/dark/stamped look. No judgement, but we are going for the well blended and natural look.
Instead of using a blade, this technique uses a small needle connected to a handheld digital device that dispenses and deposits color pigment into the very surface of the skin for that powdery effect.

IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY MICROBLADED BROWS OR AN OLD BROW TATTOO, AN IN-PERSON CONULTATION IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO BOOKING.
Due to our limited ability to re-shape a previously microbladed/tattooed brow, we have strict criteria regarding what type of old tattoo work we will accept. If you’re a good candidate, we can and will fix or modify your brows with the limited freedom we have, but we must evaluate the condition of your current brows in person before we’re able to determine whether you are a good candidate.
An in-person consultation and photos of your brows are required prior to booking.
Any brows with dark ink, a thick shape, or require “reshaping” on top of what you already have are not ideal candidates.
Any brows that turned red or pink, are thinly or shortly shaped, or simply need darkening may be ideal candidates - please book a consultation and send us your photos.
